Helping Hand
Now that the main frame has been built and the features have been put together, it’s time to start thinking about how the two are going to connect.
I tried to mirror the original design as closely as possible, having two wooden arms come up at the back to support the ammo can and give some extra balance and stability to the entire design.
These arms were made from the same pine that was used to make the legs and will attach to the top of the legs. On them will rest the ammo can from where the Sentry will draw it’s bullets – more on that in a minute!
At the same time, stands are also cut from the same wood which will hold up the rocket launcher. The space in between will be used for mounting the miniguns.
All the pieces of the main structure and the minigun are then finally collected, disassembled, cleaned and primed so that they’ll be able to take a good coat of paint.
They came out quite well, I think!
